The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
best budget robot vacuum
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of the best navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes if cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It's extremely efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one motion. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as good. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful when you're trying to get into tight corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to sweep up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install, and it works well. However should you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping it is important to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a wide range of features.
The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and find furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and efficiently. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively fast.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching a wide range of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and dry to eliminate odors and stop buildup.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it must make, which will determine the speed at which the device can traverse your home. You can also disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and carpets.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to remember that the device is subject to periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every one to three month.
The robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. This includes the power button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that sends it back to its base station after completing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean house with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated but they're a good thing because you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refueling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate floorplan which it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which help to keep certain areas of your house from being swept with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up pet hair. It was able capture the majority of hair shed by our cats and even was able to get into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were pleasant jingles to inform you that it was starting and finishing its work.

The biggest flaws were its simplistic app and the requirement to swap out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This could be an issue if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it has some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.
The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning job and then recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.
The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it gets entangled in a blockage like a power cable tangled over a rug. It will not work until you manually untangle it. This was a rare incident however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert in its app.
Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
